The Galatti Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service is granted to honor extraordinary AFS volunteers and to help publicize the impact of AFS around the world. This award is presented annually to AFS volunteers who have provided at least five (5) years of outstanding support to AFS at the grass-roots level. It is only appropriate that the selection process is initiated by those volunteers themselves through this website.
Local AFS Partners and affiliate organizations choose one winner who will represent them in the international pool of candidates to be considered for the Galatti Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service. Up to two international winners will be selected by the Executive Committee of the International Board of Trustees in November 2008 and announced on December 5, 2008 International Volunteer Day.
